As you will know, the school ran a comprehensive online learning programme throughout the Jan-March Covid 19 lockdown using Google Classroom. Since returning to school from 8th March, we have continued to use the Google Classroom platform to support Year 5 and Year 6 Homework.
Due to Covid, we are continuing to set online homework via your child's class Homework timetable which will be found on their class webpage. The links to all activities and 'to do's' are embedded into the timetable.
We are beginning to return to real reading books (hooray) and will be sending them home over the summer term. Many of the children have fallen behind in their reading - so we ask that you read at home with your child every evening. Please remember that children adore being read to. A shared story at bedtime is a wonderfully relaxing experience for you and your child - and even the older children may love it - or read you a story instead!
Please note our contingency plan for education of pupils not in school due to illness or self isolation:
As part of our ongoing contingency plan for continuation of education during the pandemic and in addition to our offer of online learning via Mathletics, Purple Mash and other online resources (please see links below) we are providing a link to the Oak National Academy. You will find many of the lessons from Oak embedded into your child's online learning Homework timetable - however, please feel free to access further lessons if you feel your child will benefit from it.
Remember - please keep your child's logins for the following websites in a safe place at all times.
Further resources for your child to enjoy........
The National Literacy Trust have released a fantastic resource for you to enjoy during self-isolation of potential further school closures. The Family Zone is filled with a plethora of high quality literature, organised into age groups, for you to enjoy together. Please engage with these beautiful stories, and other literature genres, each and every day and night.
You can also now make daily use of the Twinkl Home Learning Hub which is updated each and every day and caters to all Key Stage age groups. This fantastic resource has a daily timetable, live readings, live lessons, positive news and so much more. Just follow the link below to take you there!
In addition to the online learning websites above, we have gathered together an extensive list of other online learning resources for all year groups to explore throughout the unfortunate event of self-isolation, online home learning and any furhter school closure. Take a look - you will be amazed!
During the pandemic where we are all limited in travel and new experiences, we encourage you to open up your child's wonder of the world by exploring incredible virtual tours of some of the world's most famous Museums and Galleries. Just click on each of the links below to be taken on a wonderful adventure -
